In 2023, when the world fights for same-sex marriages and talks about individuality, the Indian Apex Court's statement on Love marriage's failure is shocking. On Wednesday Supreme Court passed a statement that most of the divorce cases arise from love marriages.

The two-judge bench was hearing the petition of a matrimonial issue (transfer petition), where the husband was forcing the wife to convert to Christianity. When the council informed the judges that it was a love marriage, Supreme Court judge Justice Gavai said "Most of the divorce arises from love marriages". The judges have suggested mediation in this particular case, where the husband opposed. The court can grant a divorce even without the consent of the husband. According to the recent judgment now divorce can be granted even without the consent of either of the parties if it is convinced that the marriage is totally unworkable, emotionally dead and beyond salvation and feel that the divorce is the only solution. So here in this particular case, the judges can grant the divorce after mediation.
