Bali has been named the top destination in the world for 2026 in the Travellers' Choice Awards: Best of the Best by TripAdvisor. The annual awards from TripAdvisor are based on both the number and quality of reviews from actual visitors. These awards cover various categories, highlighting the best places for food, culture, solo trips, and honeymoons. Bali took the leading position among the top ten destinations worldwide. The Governor of Bali, Wayan Koster, remarked that this success shows the island's ongoing appeal. "Bali has always held the top rank globally, showing that problems like waste, traffic, and fewer visitors cannot affect its standing," he stated in Denpasar, as reported by Antara.
Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana also expressed her views on this recognition, noting it shows the trust of travelers worldwide. "Bali being chosen as the best tourist spot by TripAdvisor shows that it still attracts tourists from all over the world," Widiyanti mentioned in a press release. The ranking is determined by traveler feedback gathered throughout 2025. Bali surpassed many well-known places, such as London (the winner in 2024), Dubai, Hanoi, Paris, and Rome. TripAdvisor refers to Bali as a "living postcard," showcasing features like sandy beaches, coral reefs, and colorful shipwrecks from World War II. Bali combines stunning scenery, cultural attractions, and serene hideaways, which makes it a preferred choice for travelers. Ubud is one of the most favored locations, famous for its lush rice fields, art markets, and traditional dance performances.
For those who enjoy the beach, Seminyak and Nusa Dua offer tranquil shores, fine sand, and picturesque sunset views. Adventurous travelers often go to Mount Batur, where a morning hike provides stunning sunrise vistas. Bali is also home to remarkable temples, like Tanah Lot, which sits on a rock in the ocean, and the well-known Uluwatu Temple, celebrated for its cliffside location and Kecak dance performances in the evening. For those interested in the underwater world, Amed and Nusa Penida are great places to snorkel and dive in clear waters, teeming with coral reefs and marine life. Each area of Bali reveals unique experiences, making it an ideal spot for all types of travelers.
