Google is shifting its attention to Gemini AI and Maps, rolling out some fresh features for users in India this week. Since AI is widely utilized by the company, Maps was not going to be left behind, and now it receives enhancements along with other helpful tools for travelers. The new Gemini aspect enables Maps users to ask relevant questions related to their searches, and the AI will work to provide you with the most accurate answers. Gemini allows for a conversational interaction, offering a hands-free experience with straightforward replies to pertinent inquiries. For example, if you're looking for a nearby gas station or a restaurant that meets your specific taste, you can easily find that information. Google is also enabling users to connect Gemini with other applications to expand its usage while driving.

You can also ask Gemini about a location, and it can provide you with details like reviews, pictures, or other essential information. The Gemini feature for Maps will soon be available on both Android and iOS devices. In addition to the exciting AI features, Maps will also include some practical tools that many users may appreciate upon release. Google is collaborating with the government to offer improved information on accident-prone areas, alerting users as they get close to such spots in cities like Gurugram, Hyderabad, and Chandigarh, among others. Maps will also show the official speed limit for a road based on data from local traffic authorities. This feature is initially launching for users in Mumbai, Kolkata, and Hyderabad. The company promises enhanced traffic notifications during significant disruptions, with India being the first region to receive this on Android.

Additionally, there are two-wheeler icons allowing users to modify the navigation arrow icon. Google is also providing voice navigation for flyovers, addressing a common issue with the platform.
