It was an easy and comfortable victories for Team India that took the team to the Super Four of the Asia Cup 2022. After a defeat with Pakistan, Team India lost a crucial match with Sri Lanka and lost hopes of making it to the final of the Asia Cup 2022. The match took place last evening. Sri Lanka won the toss and invited India to bat first. India scored 173 and lost eight wickets in their 20 overs. Rohit Sharma (72), and Suryakumar Yadav (34) are the top scorers among the Indian batsmen. Dilshan Madushanka (3/24), Dasun Shanaka (2/26) and Chamika Karunaratne (2/27) bagged the wickets among the Sri Lankan bowlers. Chasing a total of 174 was an easy task for the Lankan batsmen.
The team completed the chase by 6 wickets with one ball left. The team scored 174 for four wickets. Kusal Mendis (57), Pathum Nissanka (52) and Dasun Shanaka (33 not out) are the top scorers for the side. Among the Indian bowlers, Yuzvenra Chahal (3/34), Ravichandran Ashwin (1/32) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (0/30) have been decent. With this loss, Team India is almost out of Asia Cup 2022 and Pakistan, Sri Lanka may head for the semifinals. The match took place in Dubai International Stadium. India will play with Afghanistan tomorrow.
