Story
Piku Banerjee (Padukone), a caring daughter of 70-year-old father Bhashkor Banerjee (Amitabh Bachchan), who balances her romantic love story with Rana Chaudhry (Irrfan Khan) and emotional love on father. Bhashkor’s bowel motion and his dependent relationship with Piku, who asks Rana to under take his ailing father if he wants to marry her. The three persons kicks of their highway journey from Delhi to Kolkata, what happens in between, how Rana moves with Piku’s father in disgusting conditions, how their love story blossoms, you have to see on screens
Analysis :
It is worthy to praise Amitabh Bachchan, who acted as a cranky old widower and a person with dysfunctional alimentary canal, Deepika Padukone, who portrayed as a busy architect and caring daughter, and Irrfan Khan, who struck up between the father and daughter, for their perfection in showcasing daily family fun, emotion, love and hesitation.
Shoojit Sircar has done a great hard work to ensure the continuity in the plot and entertaining the audience with the dialogues between Amitabh and Deepika. He has rightly chosen Irrfan to portray a lover role and conditionally strucking driver.
The script brings you on to the screen, since you can relate your family story with what you see. But, you can predict the next after interval. The humorous angle by veteran artist is ultimate, some times you will loose control on laughing, some times you’ll get wetness in your eyes.
Bengali singer-songwriter-composer Anupam Roy's music has impressed well in his Hindi debut. Whole household can watch the movie.
Performance :
Without any doubt, we can give credits to Bhashkor Banerjee (Amitabh Bachchan) for his portrayal of motion problems and expressions, Deepika has done very well with this diverging concept, instead of hot glamour roles. Irrfan Khan makes you funny with his behavior initially and fits with the line afterwards.
Final Word:
A complete family drama with limited members, You can watch heartfully!
