A total number of 17336 new cases of coronavirus are reported in the country in the last 24 hours. The total number of cases reported in the country in total are said to be 4,33,62,294. The total number of recoveries are at 4,27,49,056. The active cases are increasing at a rapid speed and the total active cases are now at 88,284. 13 new deaths are reported in the last 24 hours and the total number of deaths are said to be 5,24,954. The government of India warned the states to impose restrictions. Facemasks are made mandatory in some of the states. Maharashtra and Kerala are reporting high number of cases. The total number of tests conducted for coronavirus are said to be 85,98,95,036.

The total number of vaccination doses given in the country are 1,96,77,33,217 and the doses given yesterday are 13,71,107. A total number of 4,01,649 tests are conducted for coronavirus yesterday. The daily tally is said to be the highest in the last four months. The Union Health Ministry revealed that the positivity rate is said to be 4.32 percent Maharashtra reported 5218 new cases in the last 24 hours and 2479 are reported in Mumbai alone. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya held a meeting with the experts and health officials after the cases started rising.
