Indian cricket team's star player Virat Kohli will miss the upcoming ODI series against Afghanistan because of a hamstring injury, as reported by PTI. "He will not be participating in the ODI series due to a hamstring issue," a source from BCCI shared with PTI. The series, consisting of three matches, is set to start on June 13 in Dharamsala. Kohli recently had an amazing performance in IPL 2026, where he scored the final runs needed for his team's victory against the Gujarat Titans. There is also uncertainty regarding Rohit Sharma's participation, as he was named in the squad based on whether he feels fit enough to play, according to the report. Previously, Virat Kohli talked about how his batting has changed, the expectations of modern T20 cricket, and the advice he wants to pass on to the next generation of Indian players, encouraging them to read the game well and adjust to different situations.

Kohli, who was key in RCB’s championship match on Sunday against the Gujarat Titans and ended the season with another remarkable scoring performance, stated that the secret to a long career is to keep improving and to adjust to the game’s evolving nature. "The reason I still play and compete is that I always want to improve and identify parts of my game where I can make a positive impact to help the team score. That’s what I always focus on,” Kohli mentioned in a video posted by IPL. He then turned his focus to young players, emphasizing that success isn’t just about powerful hitting, but also about grasping game situations and finding several ways to assist the team. “It’s about grasping the situations during the game. Your preparation should allow you to play in 3-4 different styles. If the pitch becomes challenging, you need to be able to hit boundaries instead of just sixes. And if that isn’t an option, you should be capable of rotating the strike and staying engaged in the game,” he explained.
