Honda's two-wheeler division revealed the Activa e at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, with a starting cost of Rs 1.17 lakh at the showroom. Even though the electric scooter market in India is expanding, the country still struggles with proper infrastructure. The Honda Activa e provides a charging option through a battery swapping system. Nevertheless, Honda is currently striving to simplify EV charging. Reports suggest that Honda is likely to bring a charging station for the Activa e to India. This charging station allows users to recharge their electric scooter at home. While the Japanese company offers this system in other nations like Europe, it is anticipated that it will be launched in India soon. With a variety of electric two-wheeler choices in India, consumers are now paying attention not only to the range and specifications but also to important aspects like charging and maintenance costs.

The Honda CUV sold in Europe closely resembles the Activa e available in India. However, the CUV:e includes a 270W charging dock that takes around six hours to fully charge the battery. In contrast, the Honda Activa e depends on the battery swapping option to operate. Previously, the brand has expressed concerns about home charging being quite dangerous in the Indian context. The brand thinks that using the battery swapping option is relatively safer. However, the absence of home charging options for the Activa e presents challenges for daily commuters because of the few battery swapping stations available. Taking this into account, Honda is expected to introduce the charging dock technology to the Indian market soon.
